A police official said Wednesday that Turkish police have detained 35 Daesh suspects in an anti-terror operation in Istanbul.

The official who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to media said that police raided 41 different addresses in the districts of Sultanbeyli and Pendik.

Police seized six cartridges, several documents and military camouflage during their search. Detained suspects were taken to the Counter-Terrorism Branch Headquarters.

The operation follows a series of Daesh-linked terror attacks on Turkey, most recently the New Year’s Eve shooting at the Reina nightclub in Istanbul that killed 39 people. The suspected gunman in the attack was arrested on Jan. 16.

A total of 277 people have lost their lives in Daesh terror attacks in Turkey, where the terror organization has targeted civilians in suicide bomb attacks, rocket attacks, and long-barreled gun attacks.
