Police killed a suspect with links to the far-left terror group, Revolutionary People’s Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C), during an exchange of fire in Istanbul early Tuesday, according to an official statement.
The slain terrorist was allegedly planning an attack on the Turkish interior minister, the statement released by the Istanbul police's Counter-Terrorism Department said.
The clash took place when security forces raided an address in Kadikoy, a district on the Asian side of Istanbul, it added.
