Political parties in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) started to hold first weekly group meetings in the new legislative term.

While CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu responded to the demands for “change” at the group meeting, MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli made harsh criticisms of the opposition.

HE WILL TAKE THE SHIP TO A SAFE PORT…

Kılıçdaroğlu, regarding the "change" demands discussed in public, "We are aware of the load on our shoulders. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu is just a soldier in this struggle. I will carry the honor of being the Chairman of the CHP for the rest of my life. I have the same feeling with a young friend of mine who is a member of our party today. Let no one forget, we come from a party that is fighting for the homeland with death warrants in their pockets. That's why our textures, beliefs, dreams for the future are very different. As a chairman, I think not only of the present and the near future of my party, but also of its long-targeted structure. It is still the captain's duty to take the ship to a safe port. Let everyone know that I will take the ship to the safe harbor," he said.

"WE WILL CONTINUE OUR WAY"

Making evaluations about the Presidential Election, Kılıçdaroğlu said, "We went to the polls with the same feelings as our more than 25 million citizens who voted for us. We were going to bring democracy to our country, but we didn't get what we expected. To put it bluntly, we didn't win. Of course, there would be criticism, and I welcome it. But it is also my duty to take the pen in hand and question the journalism of those who act with prejudice. We were going to build a beautiful Türkiye where no one was criticized for their lifestyle. From now on, we will not give up, we will continue on our way with faith and determination. We will continue on our way to truly bring democracy to this country."

CONSTITUTIONAL PROPOSAL FROM BAHÇELİ

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, calling for a constitution at the first group meeting of the new legislative period, "On the 100th anniversary of the Republic, our 100-item constitutional proposal has already been prepared. Their approach to the new constitution by heeding the call of the nation is a test of sincerity," he said.

Regarding the minimum wage interim hike, Bahçeli said, "I support our brothers, retirees, civil servants and all segments of society living on minimum wage to be protected from fluctuations in exchange rates and raised to wages and salaries where they will live humanely, and I promise that we will do whatever we can."
