Pool media did not see the exchange rate!

While the dollar has maintained its upward trend since the beginning of the year, the Turkish lira meltdown continues. Yesterday, the TL depreciated by 4.5 percent in 24 hours, while the pool media came to ignore the rising exchange rate and the bad trend in the economy.

After the house arrest of American pastor imprisoned in Turkey last week, US has imposed sanctions on the dollar rate after two ministers of the Turkey, it exceeded 5 pounds against TL. The dollar rate, which started with the record in the new week, rose to 5.42 liras at midnight and saw its historic peak.

Yesterday, following the developments in the markets, the Turkish Lira lost 4.5 percent in 24 hours, while the pool media did not see the bad trend in the economy.

While the first page of the pool media included the extraordinary general assembly discussions in CHP, the news about the increasing exchange rate was not included.
