In the Hunger and Poverty Boundary Survey carried out by Türk-İş Confederation, it was stated that the increase in food in the last 1 year was 135 percent and people with low incomes were deeply affected by this situation.

The high inflation crisis, which started with the pandemic and then continues to reduce the purchasing power of the citizens. According to the hunger limit and poverty line research conducted by Türk-İş Confederation, it was stated that while the increase in the figures continued in October 2022, the expenditures made for the needs of the citizens were felt at a significant level. 
 

INFLATION-BASED HIGH RISES MEAN CONTINUOUS POVERTY 

 
In the research, it was pointed out that inflation figures will continue to increase on a monthly basis after December, and it was stated that this situation will continue to be affected by wage earners. It was noted that the increase in the incomes of households with fixed income such as salaries, wages and daily wages was not as much as inflation, and their purchasing power decreased day by day. While it was pointed out that the share of labor on the basis of national income decreased with the increase in inflation experienced in the last year, it was emphasized that the increase in wages on the basis of inflation meant that the misery would continue. 
 

HUNGER LIMIT FOR A FAMILY OF FOUR; 7,425 TL 

 
According to the research conducted by Türk-İş Confederation, the monthly food expenditure that a family of four should make in order to have a healthy, balanced and adequate diet, that is, the hunger limit, reaches 7,425 Turkish Liras (TL), while the total amount of other mandatory monthly expenditures, food expenditure and clothing, housing, transportation, education, health and similar needs that is, the poverty line, increased to 24,186 TL. It was stated that the cost of living for a single employee rose to 9,706 TL on a monthly basis.
 

FOOD PRICES INCREASED 135 PERCENT IN THE LAST ONE YEAR 

 
According to the research conducted by Türk-İş Confederation on the basis of Ankara, the increase in the minimum amount of food expenditure for a family of four living in Ankara was 2,48 percent compared to the previous month, while the ten-month change was 81,19 percent. It was stated that 134,77 percent occurred in the last 12 months.
