The April results of the “Hunger-Poverty” survey conducted by the Memur-Sen Confederation on a monthly basis were shared with the public. According to the research announced, while the hunger limit of a family of four in Turkey was determined as 2,734 lira 5 kurush, the poverty line was determined as 7,806 lira 1 kurush.
On the other hand, it was revealed in the research that there was an increase in the expenses of all citizens. Accordingly, in April, compared to March, there was an average increase of 1.02 percent in food prices, 0.96 percent in heating material prices and 0.6 percent in accommodation prices. The increases were not limited to these three items. Communication item prices also increased by 0.3 percent, while clothing prices increased by 1.25 percent.
INCREASE IN EDUCATION AND HEALTH
Transportation, education and health items did not lag behind the increase. Accordingly, while there was an increase of 1.11 percent in the prices of transportation materials, there was an increase of 1.62 percent in the prices of education and culture materials. While the average change in health item prices was 0.53 percent, there was an increase of 2.48 percent in environmental and water item prices.
