Dönmez evaluated the infrastructure works in the field of electricity distribution at the 3rd Electricity Distribution Industry Meeting held at the Bilkent Hotel and Conference Center, which he attended via video conference.
Dönmez stated that the ministry is carrying out joint work with relevant institutions and organizations so that all voters can cast their votes safely on May 14.
"In these processes, urgent maintenance works were carried out on network elements feeding critical points such as provincial and district vote collection centers, election boards, courthouses, airports to be used in elections, party buildings and Supreme Election Board," Dönmez said.
Dönmez stated that the controls of the general lighting facilities at critical points have been completed and the generators registered in the inventory have been determined and the necessary maintenance and repair processes have been completed,
"In addition, our generators were distributed to our operation centers considering critical points. We have also taken the necessary precautions against cyber attacks. We made SCADA and communication infrastructure checks. On the election day, we requested support from our General Directorate of Security for critical areas. In case of any negativity in communication systems, mobile radio system and satellite phone alternatives were prepared. We determined the number of breakdown team personnel to be assigned on the election day and created crisis centers," Dönmez added.
Dönmez stated that they regularly monitor meteorological data and prepare action plans for all foreseen risks.
"On the electricity side, both our ministry and our distribution companies have completed their preparations for the election to be completed safely. Hopefully, we will complete the selection process without any problems," Dönmez said.
