The data of the top 10 occupations that are most sought after and easiest to find a job by the Presidency Human Resources Office were shared with the public with percentages.

The teaching profession, which is frequently on the agenda with insufficient appointments, existing deficits and non-appointed teachers, ranked 8th in the list of 10 professions. Professional organizations reacted to the inclusion of teaching in the list.

THE EMPLOYMENT RATE OF GRADUATES IN 6 MONTHS IS 55.6 PERCENT!

The Presidency Human Resources Office shared with the public the 10 most sought-after and easiest-to-find jobs in Turkey, as a result of the analysis of the employment data obtained from the Social Security Institution and the research it carried out on the graduate information obtained from the Higher Education Institution.

It was noteworthy that teaching was ranked 8th in the published data.

In the data shared about the teaching profession, "Teaching profession has been gathered under the general title and no division has been made. The rate of finding a job in six months for graduates is 55.6%, and the rate of finding a job in one year is 11.4%. The employment rate in the public sector is around 70 percent," it was stated.

“EASY PART OF WORKS, STATISTICS PART”

Emphasizing that statistical data are irrelevant to reality in practical life, President of the Conscious Teachers Association (ÖĞ-DER), Hamdi Sürücü, pointed out that over 750 thousand teachers are unemployed.

"There are around 750-800 thousand unemployed teachers graduated from faculties that train teachers. If they could find a job as easily as in statistics, they wouldn't be unemployed. How many of the friends working in the private sector can actually earn the income they deserve. The convenience part of things is this statistical part. Numbers are considered correct in percentile calculations, but these numbers do not always tell the truth. More than 40,000 graduates are awarded each year. Formation is added to this. If 55 percent of the people in the waiting line for assignment every year were able to find a job, the number of teachers looking for a job would not be so high," Sürücü said.

“IS NOT POSSIBLE THAT EVERY BRANCH TO BE IN THIS ORDER”

Reminding that there are over 100 thousand vacancies and thousands of unappointed teachers in the field of teaching, Anadolu Education Union (AES) Vice President Nihat Örs pointed out that the authenticity of the statement should be questioned.

"The statement made covers the problems of the teaching profession. Including the teaching profession in the most sought-after and easy-to-find professions, giving hope, does not reduce the number of teachers who cannot be appointed, and does not solve the problems. Moreover, the assignment of teachers differs according to their branches. In other words, it is not possible for every branch to be included in this ranking. In a society that attaches importance to education, teaching should be at the top of the top ten in a real ranking," he said.

“HOW REALISTIC IS TEACHING IS ONE OF THE EASIEST EMPLOYMENT PROFESSIONS?”

Talip Geylan, Chairman of the Turk-Eğitim-Sen educators union, who stated that the announced data cause many questions to come to mind, stated that the data and the facts are very different.

"The Presidency Human Resources Office has announced the occupations with easy jobs in Turkey according to their percentages. Teaching is at the 8th place on the list. What percentage of education faculty graduates can find a job in the first six months, the first year and only as a teacher? Do we consider teachers who work in their family's field or in their father's grocery store, who provide subsistence as workers or as intermediate staff in any workplace, or who have to choose public institutions that have nothing to do with their graduation, especially the police, as finding an easy job or working in the public sector? How realistic is it to say that teaching is one of the easiest jobs to find in an environment where more than 500 thousand education faculty graduates are not appointed and an average of 40 thousand education faculty graduates are added to the balance each year?" he said.
