President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that they have increased the lowest pension from 3,500 Turkish Liras (TL) to 5,500 TL, and said that they have increased the increase in the wages of civil servants and pensioners, which was announced as 25 percent the previous day, to 30 percent. Noting that they will not hesitate to hold a referendum on the headscarf, Erdoğan said that snap elections are on their agenda. On the other hand, Good (IYI) Party leader Meral Akşener said that they will not submit a research proposal to the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM), in line with the family's request, regarding Sinan Ateş, the former Chairman of the Grey Wolves (Ülkü Ocakları).

The Justice and Development Party (AKP) and IYI Party held their weekly group meeting in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM). President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, while criticizing the opposition parties at the group meeting of his party, made an increase in the salaries of civil servants and pensions announced the previous day. Good Party Chairwoman Meral Akşener, on the other hand, referred to the murder of former Ülkü Ocakları Chairman Sinan Ateş and was charged with power.

CIVIL SERVANT RISE INCREASED TO 30 PERCENT

Erdogan, stating that they increased the lowest pension from 3,500 TL to 5,500 TL, he said that the minimum wage support paid by the employer was increased to 400 TL. Regarding the increase in the wages of civil servants and pensioners, which were announced as 25 percent, increased to 30 percent recently, Erdogan said, “We instructed our ministers to find formulas that would increase the rate of 25 percent even higher on the way to the civil servant meeting. We have provided opportunities that we can increase up to 30.” In addition, Erdoğan stated that the rate of increase may increase during the year.

“EVERYTHING COMES TO OUR AGENDA”

While renewing the statement that he “asked for support for the last time” in the 2023 elections, Erdogan said, “Someone misunderstands our statement this is the last time. I am saying it about this election. We will put all our effort into this election. This is not the start, it is the finish... We will succeed.” Erdogan also pointed to the referendum on the “constitutional proposal on the headscarf” and he said: “If this proposal is passed with a vote of less than 400 and more than 360, we have to take it to the public vote as per the constitution. If such a picture occurs, we will not hesitate to go to the arbitration of our nation.” Erdogan answered the question about the election dates that were spoken to the public after the group meeting, “Whatever is spoken in the public, it all comes to our agenda.”

“NO RESEARCH SHOULD NOT BE MADE REGARDING THE ATEŞ MURDER”

Akşener, regarding her meeting with Ayşe Ateş, the wife of Sinan Ateş, who was killed as a result of the assassination, said, “The family made a request through Ayşe Ateş not to hold a parliamentary question or research motion regarding this issue. I am obliged to announce this to everyone.” Saying that there is no minimum wage earner around Erdogan, Akşener said that wage increases will not increase welfare as long as the inflation spiral continues, adding: “If you want to be of use to our nation, first of all, lower inflation! But let me tell you in advance: You cannot reduce inflation by looking at the glowing eyes and empty words of the Minister Nebati, or by looking at the tarot horoscopes of Mr. Erdogan,” she added.
