While it was seen that Mehmet Şimşek was brought to the economy seat, which was eagerly awaited in the cabinet, Şimşek's term of office officially started with the handover ceremony held at the Ministry of Treasury and Finance.

Şimşek said at the meeting held at the takeover ceremony, "Türkiye has no choice but to return to rational economic policies." With these words, Şimşek gave the message that he would fulfill the requirements of the global interest-based economic order.

Şimşek, who will start a gradual increase in interest rates in line with the expectations of foreign moneylenders, has been working with President Erdoğan's thesis "Inflation due to interest rate" since 2018, when the Presidential Government System started to be implemented. He will implement the opposite of the economic policies that Berat Albayrak and Nurettin Nebati tried to implement.

On the other hand, President Erdogan, who accused the opposition of being a "mandator" for criticizing the interest rate policy he implemented, has appointed a London-based figure in the new period, which was a separate discussion topic.

The billion dollars used by the Central Bank to suppress the dollar, as well as the money borrowed through swap agreements with foreign countries, to protect the seat of power, caused the reserves to fall into negative.

On the other hand, the Currency Protected TL Time Deposit System, which was put into effect in the past months, makes Mehmet Şimşek, who has just taken his seat, thought.

It is claimed that Şimşek, who came to the office with his staff and in return for implementing the policies he wanted, wanted to put an end to the Currency Protected Deposit practice in order to increase the reserves in the coming days. It is stated that Şimşek, who will end the general economic model introduced to the public as the Turkish Economy Model with these steps, may resort to austerity policies.

WILL THE PROMISES MADE TO MINIMUM WAGERS, RETIREES AND CIVIL SERVANTS BE KEPT?

It is known that Şimşek, whom the government met before the election, opposes the economy implemented during the election period.

President Erdoğan promised that if the election is won, an interim increase to the minimum wage will be made in July, a new work will be carried out to increase the purchasing power of retirees, and the minimum salary of civil servants will reach 22 thousand liras.

It was a matter of curiosity what Mehmet Şimşek would do about these three regulations, which was seen to implement a strict economic policy due to the bad results in the economy.

It is not known for now whether the promises made will be kept while the eyes of the minimum wage, civil servants and retirees are turned to the statements to be made by the new minister, while staying for a short time like one month.
