While new ministers were appointed after the elections, Educators Union "Eğitim-Bir-Sen" Chairman Ali Yalçın and the accompanying delegation visited the newly appointed Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin and conveyed the problems of education to the Minister.

Making a statement regarding the visit, Yalçın stated that they conveyed to Minister Tekin the problems that exist in education and that need to be solved urgently.

THE MINISTRY IS EXPECTED TO TAKE CONCRETE AND QUICK STEPS

"Education-Bir-Sen" and "Memur-Sen" Chairman Ali Yalçın, "Eğitim-Bir-Sen" Secretary General Talat Yavuz, Deputy Chairman Mesut Öner, Abdülaziz Aydın, Muammer Karaman, Ramazan Çakırcı and Ali Deniz, paid a good luck visit to Yusuf Tekin, who was appointed as the Minister of National Education.

Wishing Minister Tekin success in his new duty, Ali Yalçın shared with Minister Tekin his observations and views on the national education policies of "Eğitim-Bir-Sen", current problems of education staff and solution proposals.

Yalçın said that strong support of the ministry is needed to solve the problems.

During the meeting, Yalçın noted that they expect the ministry to take concrete and quick steps on issues that need to be decided urgently, such as the manager assignment schedule and field change.

A PROFESSIONAL LAW INCLUDING ALL TEACHERS IS REQUIRED

Stating that although the Teaching Profession Law is an important step, it is insufficient to qualify the profession law, Yalçın stated that the Law should be regulated.

He underlined that the main expectation of teachers and the education community is a professional law that covers the personal rights of school administrators and covers all teachers, regardless of official or private institution.

NECESSARY ATTEMPTS MUST BEGIN ON APPOINTMENT

Yalçın also mentioned the problems regarding the appointment of teachers, noting that there is still a significant need for teachers.

"At least 120,000 more teachers are needed. However, the number of teacher candidates waiting for assignment is much higher than this. In the face of the fact that the population in the education age has started to decrease, it is seen that the period of appointment of a large number of teachers has come to an end. This shows that in the coming years, the problem of 'the teacher who cannot be appointed and is waiting for appointment' stands before the ministry and the political will as a very serious issue. The Ministry has to initiate the necessary initiatives and take precautions in this regard," he said.

EDUCATIONAL PLANNING PROCESSES FAILURE, THE CALENDAR MUST BE ANNOUNCED

Expressing that the main problem in education management is the uncertainty in selecting and appointing administrators, Yalçın underlined that the basic parameters should be determined.

Yalçın also underlined that the executive appointment calendar has not been announced yet.

"Time is ticking, but the lack of clarity of the calendar causes uncertainty among both prospective managers and current managers, creating anxiety among education staff and hindering the training planning processes," he added.
