As we approach the Gregorian New Year, Prof. Dr. Cevat Akşit Hodja warned Muslims.
Pointing out that shops and houses are decorated and festivals are being prepared due to New Year's Eve, Akşit Hodja said that Muslims should take our Prophet as an example.
Akşit Hodja said that Muslims cannot follow non-Muslims.
"You are a Muslim, my beautiful brother, do not celebrate New Year's. Do not decorate your house, do not increase their crowd. Don't be like them, don't be one of them," he warned Muslims.
“MY MISSION IS TO ANNOUNCE THIS TO YOU”
Cevat Akşit Hodja, who warned Muslims, "You will follow Muhammad Mustafa (PBUH), other nations will follow you. Muslims cannot follow non-Muslims. According to the hadith, if a person increases the crowd of other nations and tribes, even if he is not a person of that country, he is one of them. My job is to make them known to you. I'm also announcing on New Year's Eve. Otherwise, you will be their prisoner. The Ummah of Muhammad is an exemplary nation. A nation that other nations will take as an example in their dressing, speaking, going to bed, getting up, eating and drinking cannot take others as an example. You cannot follow non-Muslim nations in these matters," he said.
“YOU CANNOT FOLLOW NON-MUSLIMS”
Akşit Hodja pointed out that the shops and houses were decorated and the festivities were prepared due to New Year's Eve.
"In the interpretation of verse 143 of Surat al-Baqara in the Qur'an, Allah says that as the Ummah of Muhammad Mustafa, we should not follow this and that. Allah gives orders and tells us that we are the central ummah. What does it mean to be a central ummah? Everyone needs to look at us, everyone needs to take us as an example. We will be an example to other nations and be their source and authority. There is a clear command that says, 'O Muslims, you cannot follow non-Muslims'. Look, it doesn't just say Muslims in Turkey, these words are valid for all Muslims," he added.
“A Muslim is not one who follows others, but one who is followed”
While wild preparations were being made for New Year's Eve in our country, as in the rest of the world, we, as the Milli Gazete, asked the scholars about the decision of celebrating the New Year.
Abdulvahap Ekinci Hodja, Founder and President of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, "Celebrating New Year's Eve is unbecoming of a believer. Celebrating by entering the area prohibited by Islam is haram, prostitution and immoral," he said.
Former Vice President of Religious Affairs Necmettin Nursaçan Hodja, "A Muslim is not one who follows others, but one who is followed. A Muslim has dignity and honor. He should not be caught in an inferiority complex and imitate others," he said.
