LEGAL REGULATION NEEDED AGAINST VIOLENCE CASES IN HEALTH SECTOR

Stating that the personal rights of family physicians are not met, the Federation of Family Physicians Associations (AHEF) Chairman Kemal Noyan underlined that physicians are waiting for legal regulations on many issues, "As physicians, we have many expectations. Against our expectations, no adjustment has been made yet. One of them is violence in health. We expect a legal regulation on violence in health. However, a law has not yet been created in this regard," he said.

DOCTORS' RIGHTS NOT GRANTED

Stating that physicians were declared heroes at the beginning of the pandemic, Noyan noted that many rights of heroic health workers were not given, "Although we were declared heroes, physicians who died of illness at the beginning of their duties were not considered martyrs. It is obvious that the data that came to the agenda many times with the pandemic and that physicians went abroad. Despite the data, no improvement was made so that the physicians did not go. Apart from these, physicians were awarded in the world during the pandemic period. As of 1 July, the penal regulation came into effect. This regulation caused a loss of morale and motivation among physicians," he added.

“WE ARE TAKING ACTION AS A REACTION”

Reminding that over 120 million vaccines have been made regarding the pandemic in Turkey, Noyan stated that the vaccines are also made in family health centers along with hospitals.

"Our family physicians took the lead in vaccination studies. However, the additional payments to be made with these works were given incompletely. In addition, the issue of raises for physicians, which was brought to the agenda in the past days, was withdrawn in the General Assembly before it was concluded. As a reaction to these, we, as family physicians, decided to quit our job for the third time in Turkey today. If family physicians are excluded in the event that the decision withdrawn from the General Assembly is reinstated, indefinite layoffs are on our agenda," he said.
