Citizens gathered in front of UNICEF Türkiye Office under the leadership of Ankara Palestine Solidarity Platform and reacted to UNICEF by drawing attention to the children killed in Israel's attacks in Palestine.
MAZLUMDER Advisory Board Member Esra Duru, who made a statement on behalf of the platform, reminded the attacks carried out by Israel in Gaza on November 20, 2023, when the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child was remembered again, and asked, "Where is UNICEF?"
Occupied Israel has been continuing its attacks and massacres in Gaza since October 7.

“THE REAL EXISTENCE OF CHILDREN'S RIGHTS IS BEING QUESTIONED”
Speaking at the action, MAZLUMDER Advisory Board Member Esra Duru stated that the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child on November 20, 1989 was an important turning point for the world's children, and underlined that the sincerity of the statements in the adopted convention was questioned over the course of time.
"Today, many children in different countries of the world are deprived of their fundamental rights in various ways, as slaves of capitalism, from the deep mines of Africa, to the blind factories in the Far East, from the concentration camps in East Turkestan, to the shadow of a 'civilized' war in Ukraine, unaware of each other. In this way, they ask whether 'children's rights' really exist," Duru said.
“EVERYONE FOLLOWS UNICEF'S SILENCE WITH AMAZEMENT”
Stating that UNICEF continues its missionary activities on behalf of the rulers of the UN all over the world, Duru reminded that in just 20 years, they have done nothing more than issuing condemnations in crisis areas, especially Palestine.
"Since 2000, the racist Israeli regime has committed 12 major massacres in the occupied Palestinian territories, and in addition to its daily murders, human rights violations, oppression, torture and arrests, it has taken its brutality to the level of genocide with the attacks it launched on October 7. In these days when schools and hospitals are targeted, more than 5 thousand children are killed, and the rest are deprived of their most basic right to life, everyone with a conscience in the world, especially the children of Gaza, follows with astonishment and admiration the silence of UNICEF, as well as all international institutions and organizations," Duru added.
“ARE THERE NO CHILDREN FROM GAZA AMONG THE CHILDREN TAKEN UNDER SECURITY?”
Pointing out that it is World Children's Rights Day, Duru asked which children's rights will be discussed.
"Aren't there children from Gaza who are killed every 10 minutes among the children whose rights you have secured with the Convention on the Rights of the Child? Who will protect the rights of children who lost their lives, families, homes, dormitories and dreams in Gaza? Where is UNICEF?" Duru asked.
