Members of the Public Engineers Platform protested in Istanbul Kadıköy on Sunday, demanding the improvement of their personal rights.
In the action attended by many engineers from different cities of Turkey, the demands of the Public Engineers Platform were listed.
In the statement made by the platform members in the action, "We demand an 'Engineering Profession Law' in order to evaluate knowledge, experience and experience, and to regulate the title, authority, scope, working conditions, career steps, specialization in the profession and professional development of the engineering profession that requires special expertise," it was stated.
DRAW ATTENTION TO THE INEQUALITY OF WAGES
Vedat Yılmaz read the joint statement prepared on behalf of the public engineers carrying banners and banners with their demands written.
Yılmaz emphasized that the regulations made on the basis of profession cause wage inequality that disrupts the hierarchical structure, negative changes in the peace between the statuses, positive separation of some titles, and those who cannot form public opinion remain in the background.
Yilmaz, in the statement he read, "As public engineers, we take serious responsibilities day and night for the development of our country and to be ahead of its time, and we demand what is rightfully ours from the authorities. Our expectations from the collective bargaining desk; It is the struggle for our rights that have not been fought for years. It is the surrender of our rights. Giving engineers the appreciation they deserve. Our lost reputation is not leaving the table without gaining it. It is the improvement of our financial and personal rights," he said.
“WE ARE CALLING THE GOVERNMENT AUTHORITIES”
Continuing to list his demands, Yılmaz said, "We demand that the income of public engineers be increased to the income level of professions with similar incomes and considered equivalent to engineers in the public sector until recently. We demand that all gains be reflected in retirement and that an arrangement such as an additional pension allowance be made for retired engineers. We are calling out to the state authorities to eliminate the grievances of engineers, architects, urban planners, landscape architects, interior architects and those who are retired from the public sector, to solve their problems, and to meet justified demands."
