A critical corner has been entered in the collective bargaining negotiations between the government and civil servants' unions since August.
While the delegations were expected to meet once again, hosted by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, Ali Yalçın, Chairman of "Memur-Sen", who sat at the collective bargaining table as the authorized union, held a press conference.
Stating that the government's offers so far are not realistic, Yalçın said, "Our collective agreement offers; We prepared it by considering the situation in Turkey and the responsibility of each of us regarding this process. Considering the price instability and economic conditions, we submitted our raise offer in quarterly periods. The inflation expectations of the Central Bank confirmed the accuracy of our proposals. In this process, we reminded the public employer of Turkey's growth figures and the government's promise of welfare share in the election manifesto. The figures brought by the public employer in the first and second proposals are neither in line with the reality we have expressed nor in a quality that will meet the expectations."
“THE INFLATION DIFFERENCE IS OUR RETROACTIVE MONEY”
Yalçın continued his words by emphasizing that the forehead of the civil servants decreased in the face of inflation.
"As public servants who have no responsibility for the problems faced by the Turkish economy; We do not accept the inclusion of economic tightening policies of our labor in the savings item," he added.
“OUR REQUEST FOR PROSPERITY IS NOT A CONFORMIST REQUEST”
Noting that they have made progress in the negotiations held in some service branches, Yalçın said, regarding the last proposal to be made by the government.
"We hope that our public officials from 81 provinces will hear their voices and will meet their expectations in a fair and acceptable manner. Our expectations are very clear; It is to come up with a new proposal that is realistic, takes into account the market conditions, does not neglect the predicted inflation, includes the share of welfare, and will increase the real purchasing power of public officials. For this reason, we expect a remedial will in the percentage increase and a positive step in the welfare share. Our desire for welfare is not a conformist expectation in an inflationary environment, but a powerful instrument to protect our purchasing power. Considering all these facts, we are waiting for a proposal from the government that will make 25 million public servants and retirees happy and sign Memur-Sen with their families," Yalçın said.
