In the 2019 local elections, there was a remarkable development in the case of the murder of two ballot box observers from the Saadet Party in Malatya Pütürge.
Despite the Supreme Court's approval of the decision of 5 people who had previously been sentenced to life imprisonment twice, a Supreme Court prosecutor's decision to bring the decision to the General Penal Board and ask for the sentence to be reduced and reconsidered, created a shock effect.
There has been a remarkable development regarding the decision made for the murder suspects of Hasan and İlyas Aktaş, the uncles of the Saadet Party, who were murdered at the ballot box in the Pütürge district of Malatya on March 31.
In the appeal against 5 convicts who were previously sentenced to life imprisonment, the upper court overturned the decision.
The decision in question caused reactions.
CRIMES DETECTED
On the day of the local election, the father of Malatya's Pütürge Mayor Mikail Sülük and his 4 uncles killed Hasan Aktaş and İlyas Aktaş, the poll observers from the Saadet Party.
It was determined that Mikail Sülük's father Hacı Sülük and 4 people from his uncles had committed this crime and fled in the same vehicle, following the gunpowder trail.
After the incident, 5 people were given two aggravated prison sentences.
RELEASED FROM PRISON ALTHOUGH DID NOT HAVE ANY VITAL PROBLEM
Although he was sentenced to life twice in the massacre in the later period, Hacı Sülük, the father of AK Party Mayor Mikail Sülük, was released from prison with the reports he received, although he did not have any vital problems.
A person who fled after the massacre is still wanted after four years.
This being the case, the convicts who were sentenced to aggravated imprisonment twice tried to put the blame on the person who escaped, but in the investigations, it was determined that all the convicts who were sentenced had committed a crime.
