President of the Council of Higher Education Erol Özvar spoke at the 259th Interuniversity Board Meeting.

Özvar, as the Council of Higher Education, made statements regarding the vision they have determined for the next period and underlined that they will determine policies sensitive to employment,

"We are gradually reducing the quotas of programs that are less linked to employment," Özvar said.

Özvar pointed out that one of the first steps to be taken in the next period will be to increase their sensitivity towards employment.

Özvar stated that they will take steps towards some departments,

"We are gradually reducing the quotas of programs that are less linked to employment," Özvar added.

“THE WAY WILL BE POSTED FOR PROGRAMS THAT ARE SENSITIVE TO EMPLOYMENT AND SUITABLE FOR THE PROFESSIONS OF THE FUTURE”

Stating that they will arrange additional quotas for universities for employment-oriented programs and new programs, Özvar pointed out some programs.

"In order to increase the quality of education in some programs specific to architecture, pharmacy, psychology, nutrition-dietetics and basic sciences, new regulations have been made in the quotas that lead to graduation above market expectations, in line with the needs of the country, and the number of faculty members, classrooms and similar capacities have been reduced by taking into account. Perhaps our most important work to improve the program quality in our universities this period was the closure of evening education programs in our state universities. It will be ensured that foundation universities are transformed into programs that are sensitive to employment and suitable for the professions of the future, instead of secondary education programs, as is the case in state universities. We expect our foundation universities to make their plans for next year accordingly," Özvar said.
