Stating that they continue to meet with Israeli officials to facilitate humanitarian aid operations in Gaza, Dujarric said that they are trying to make the aid process more effective and quick.
Dujarric answered the question about how bilateral relations were progressing after Israeli officials' criticism of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and the institution: "Relations with Israel are complex and challenging."
Stating that the UN is trying to deliver humanitarian aid in the middle of the conflict and that it is very difficult, Dujarric said, "Communication channels with Israel are open, but relations are still complex and challenging."
Regarding the question of whether Guterres could not meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for this reason, Dujarric noted that this was not the only communication channel and that they communicated with their Israeli counterparts almost hourly about aid access.
