Covering the period between January 1 and April 30, the report documented Israeli settlement activities in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem, especially after the US President Donald Trump announced his plan, known as the “deal of the century”.
Highlighting a surge in colonial projects and settlement expansion plans, the report revealed that 15 decisions that resulted in the construction of 19,895 new settlement units have been made since the start of this year.
Israeli settlers have intensified their violence against Palestinians, with an increase in settler attacks from 31 in January to 73 in April, in a bid to force the Palestinian people, especially those living in agricultural areas, out of their lands, the report explained.
The report pointed to a spike in settler attacks in which Israeli settlers damaged Palestinian properties, with 20, 26, 39, and 61 incidents respectively in the past four months.
The report found a significant increase in illegal settlement activities and settler attacks in the first four months of 2020 compared with the same period of 2019.
