Two media organs that covered the process of the Zionists' invasion of Turkish Repulic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) lands were subject to criminal sanctions.

SCANDAL DECISION FROM THE MEDIA ETHICS COMMITTEE

 
The Media Ethics Committee in the TRNC evaluated the complaints received at its last meeting on April 5, and decided to issue a warning to the newspapers "Halkın Sesi" and "KıbrısWeb".
 
According to the statement made by the Media Ethics Committee on the subject, the penalty was given because of the news on KıbrısWeb on 25 March and on Halkın Sesi internet newspapers on 27 March, about immovable properties purchased by Israeli business people.
 
"The title and content of the news, journalism professional principles should not broadcast in a way that justifies, encourages and provokes violence, and incites hatred and enmity. It should not broadcast that promotes discrimination based on race, nationality, ethnicity, sexual orientation, language, religion or creed. The journalist should endeavor to verify the information obtained," it was noted as violation of Article 15, 16 and 20.
 
Newspapers were called to be more sensitive especially in these areas.
