In our country, where living conditions are getting worse day by day, the price hikes that are made now melt away in a short time due to inflation. Employees who are aware of this are fighting hard to protect their labor and sweat. The bargaining process in the 6th Term Collective Agreement negotiations, which concerns 4.2 million civil servants and 2.2 million retired civil servants, begins today. The contracting process of more than 700 thousand public workers, which started on May 31, is expected to be concluded this week.

THEY MOVE TOGETHER

Unlike previous years, Memur-Sen and Turkey Kamu-Sen labour unions, acting together this year, determined common demands. The two confederations demanded an increase of 600 lira per month from the government, 21 percent in 2022, 17 percent in 2023, and 3 percent each year, a total of 6 percent increase in welfare share in two years. Among the common demands of the confederations, there are articles such as 3600 additional indicators to be given to all civil servants, the recruitment of contracted employees, the payment of holiday bonuses to civil servants, and the payment of more than 15 percent of the income tax. The raise bargaining process, which will start with the first meeting to be held today for civil servants and civil servant retirees, will legally end in the third week of August.

THE GOVERNMENT'S PROPOSAL NOT ACCEPTED

Increasing the lowest gross wage of Türk-İş and Hak-İş to 4 thousand 800 liras, the government demanded 20 percent for the first 6 months, inflation plus 3 percent welfare share for the other 6 months in the 2021-2022 period, the gross wage is 3,577-3 He responded with an offer of 100 liras for those with a salary between 1,750 lira and 60 liras for those whose gross wages are between 3 thousand 750 and 4 thousand liras, with a 9 percent increase for the first 6 months of the year, and 5 percent plus inflation difference for the second 6 months. After the labor confederations found the government's offer low and expected a new offer, the parties were contacted again last week. Accordingly, negotiations are expected to intensify in the coming days and the contract is expected to be concluded this week.
