When the interventions made to the pensions, which were eroded by the change made in 2008, were also wrong, the number of "retirees with the lowest salary" increases exponentially after each step.

The latest statements of the Minister of Labor and Social Security, Vedat Bilgin, about the salary situation of the retirees, brought about the discussions.

Stating that they are working to increase the lowest pension and holiday bonuses, Minister Bilgin comments that it would be more equitable to make a total improvement to the salaries of retirees under the current difficult life conditions.

THE NEW OWNERS OF THE MINIMUM WAGE ARE RETIREES NOW

At the same time, the Minister Bilgin is criticized as "You are pulling the pensioner down with these inconsistent regulations".

The retirees, whose salaries are decreasing day by day in the face of rising inflation and unavoidable hikes, repeat their insistent demands for the implementation of a comprehensive and permanent pension model.

The new problem of retirees, most of whom are paid even below the minimum wage, is “falling to the bottom”.

In previous years, very few retirees received a salary from the base, but after the wrong steps, this rate approached half of the retirees.

THE MINISTER CONFIRMED: “OUR RAISE WAS INSUFFICIENT”

Minister Bilgin, who admitted that as the government, they saw that the lowest pension they took to 5,500 TL was insufficient in today's conditions, announced that they were trying to put forward an alternative study.

"We have alternative studies, alternative models that will increase the lowest pension. In addition, there are holiday bonuses that retirees receive. The work on the lowest pension and holiday bonus will also include those who are retired within the scope of Retirement Age Victims (EYT) regulation. We have studies evaluating them," Minister Bilgin said.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE RETIREES?

With the law enacted in 2008, a major blow was dealt to pensions.

While trying to repair the damage caused by this blow, other damage was caused.

When the effort made for the minimum wage paid by the employer was not shown in the state pensions, the retirees became the owners of the new minimum wage.

While the number of retirees receiving the lowest pension was around 1 million before, now millions of retirees are below the minimum wage and receive the lowest pension.
