While experts call for the EYT regulation to solve the problem radically without creating new problems, the victims say they want to see the solution now.
Regarding the long-awaited EYT regulation, Justice and Development Party (AKP) Group Deputy Chairman Muhammet Emin Akbaşoğlu stated that the regulation will come to the Parliament on Monday. He also announced that an announcement regarding the content of the regulation will be made on Monday. While experts on the subject draw attention to new grievances that may occur, the victims are calling for the regulation to become law as soon as possible and for the long waiting to come to an end.

The regulation on EYT has come to an end. The eyes of millions of victims are today. Experts, on the other hand, pointed out that regulations are necessary in order to avoid new grievances with the resolution of the EYT problem. They drew attention to the necessity of an arrangement against the grievances that occurred among the victims. Stating that the problems in the pension system also came to the fore with the EYT, experts point out that it is important to enact the Adaptation Law in order to ensure the standard unity among pensions.

Reminding that it was announced that the EYT regulation would be resolved in December, experts pointed out that with such a delay in enactment, the pensions to be received will also be low, and underlined that with the delay in the EYT regulation, the pensions they will receive may be between 8 and 10 percent higher. Experts underlined that retirees and EYT members suffered great losses with the regulations made in 1999 and 2008, and that losses continue with the EYT regulation, which is now delayed, and they draws attention to the need that these losses should not be ignored within the scope of the regulation.

Making statements regarding the victims, Gönül Boran Özüpak, President of the EYT Federation, pointed out that the victims have been waiting for a long time and said, “It has been stated that the details of EYT will be announced on Monday and will be brought to the Parliament. Our expectation is that the rights before 1999 will be fully granted without creating a new victimization. Our effort to raise the problem at the bottom to the top was taken into account with the 2023 elections. The executive authority should not allow new grievances. It was delayed for years. December was said, January is over. It was said in February, now it is stated that salaries will be received in March. Thousands of our friends borrowed money to complete the days. In this case, salaries could not be reached due to failure to keep promises made in the past. That's why we don't want to be delayed.”
