The ‘U’ turn signal came from the ruling party, whose votes are melting day by day! A striking statement came from the heavyweights of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) regarding People’s Democratic Party (HDP) former Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş and businessperson Osman Kavala, whose trials are the subject of constant debate and the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has also decided to violate. For Demirtaş and Kavala, AKP Deputy Chairman Hayati Yazıcı said, “Turkey has accepted the judgment of the ECHR. There must be a formulation that will meet the requirements of this,” was interpreted as a ‘U’ turn.

THEY WANT TO USE ALL THE ACES THEY HAVE

The ruling party, whose votes have decreased significantly in the public opinion polls, is using all the trump cards in order not to face a possible snap election or a great disappointment in the elections on time. First of all, like every losing party, the government who rolled up their sleeves to change the election law, shared with the public that they are working on many gangrenous subjects such as EYT, 3600 additional indicators, etc. Realizing that such regulations could not prevent the dissolution, the government signaled that it would take some steps in the field of law, on which it had been struggling for years.

YAZICI: “A FORMULATION MUST BE FOUND”

The statements made by Deputy Chairman Hayati Yazıcı, one of the heavyweights of the AKP, regarding the detention of HDP former Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş and businessperson Osman Kavala, who have been imprisoned for 5 years, drew attention. Yazıcı said about Demirtaş and Kavala, “I don't find it right to talk while the trial is going on so as not to affect the judiciary. But I always believed in this. Members of the judiciary do not work unless necessary, and do not make unnecessary decisions. Turkey accepted the judgment of the European Court of Human Rights. There must be a formulation to meet the requirements of this,” was evaluated as a ‘U’ turn.
