It has been revealed that Russia, which has an eye on natural gas and oil resources in the Eastern Mediterranean, will start work in an area of 2 thousand 250 kilometers. Announced in March by Al Savra newspaper under the Assad regime in Syria, the agreement was also written by Foreign Policy magazine, the media organ of the CFR. Russia, which wants to carry out exploration activities in the region that Turkey describes as the "blue homeland", reached an agreement with the Assad regime through its military company Wagner Group. Capital Limited and East Med Amrit companies from Russia reached an agreement with the Assad regime for 25 plus 5 years for oil and gas exploration activities in an area of 2 thousand 250 square kilometers on the Mediterranean coast of Syria. Russia, which has increased its influence in the region, settled in the region with a 30-year agreement.
REGIME'S NEWSPAPER ANNOUNCED IN MARCH
The Al Savra newspaper, affiliated with the Assad regime, announced in its news dated March 16, 2021 that the regime had an agreement with Russia. It stated in the newspaper that it had signed agreements with Russian oil exploration firms Capital Limited and East Med Amrit to search for oil. In the news, the details of the agreement included the information that "it was made for 25 plus 5 years, that a 48-month exploration study was planned, the duration could be extended for 36 months if needed, and if oil or natural gas was found, it would be shared according to the amount produced".
RUSSIAN SOLDIERS NOW IN THE EAST MEDITERRANEAN
Russia, which will search for oil in an area of 2 thousand 250 kilometers off the coast of Tartus province of Syria, will place the Wagner Group as the military company established in 2014 in the region. Wagner Group, founded by former Russian soldiers, is very active in eastern Ukraine and Syria. The group, which has more than 6,000 employees, does not have an official ties with the Russian government, but works underground. Wagner militias, who went to Syria and fought with Assad soldiers during the days of civil war, took an active part in the murder of civilians. The killer Russian soldiers, who forced millions of Syrians to migrate, will now serve in the Eastern Mediterranean.
