Felicity (Saadet) Party European Representation has published a report titled “The Problems of Citizens of Turkish Origin Living Abroad and Suggestions for Solutions”.
In the report, the problems and solution proposals of Turkish citizens living abroad, whose number is 7 million, were included.
In the report, it was stated that citizens living abroad have serious problems, and it was stated that a study was carried out as a result of the necessity of revealing the solution to these problems by the political institution.
In the report, which stated that Turkish citizens living abroad have problems with representation, it was stated that in democracies, pluralism is ensured through representation, and it was emphasized that there are problems in the representation of voters abroad.
As a solution proposal to this problem, it was stated that citizens living abroad should have the right to have a representative in the parliament, necessary legal arrangements should be made to ensure equal representation of citizens living at home and abroad, and the number of voters per deputy should be determined for citizens living abroad.
EXPERTS SHOULD BE INTERVIEWED WITHIN THE SCOPE OF OFB SHARING IMPLEMENTATION
While it was stated that the "Automatic Financial Information Sharing Application" (OFB) agreement, which is internationally accepted with the aim of preventing tax evasion, will affect employees, pensioners, social assistance recipients and business people, while Turkish citizens living abroad also create distrust due to the importance of the information to be shared through this agreement. While offering solutions to the resulting insecurity, it was stated that citizens living abroad could be exempted from this contract and could be resolved definitively. While it was stated that the contract did not come to the agenda sufficiently and the citizens did not have sufficient information about the contract, it was noted that it was necessary to consult with experts in the aforementioned field on how the effects of the contract for our foreign citizens could be reduced.
VOCATIONAL EDUCATION DIPLOMA IS NOT EQUIVALENT
It was underlined that Turkish citizens who received education in Germany, especially the diplomas received in the field of vocational education, do not have an equivalence in Turkey, and it was noted that this problem should also be resolved. While it is stated that the acceptance of Turkish citizens who have received and graduated from 360 different branches in Germany as secondary school graduates in Turkey, leads to loss of rights. It was stated that it should be admitted to universities without examination.
VICTIMS MUST BE AVOIDED ON RETURNS TO THE COUNTRY
Emphasizing that Turkish citizens living abroad face many problems when they return to their hometowns, it was noted in the report that citizens faced problems such as bribery, safety of life and property, unfair treatment, theft, and long queues in the countries they passed through along the way.
Emphasizing that the solution to the problems experienced will be provided by establishing the "Overseas Travel and Residence Security Presidency or Directorate" unit, it was noted in the report that through this unit, the dangers on the transit routes of our citizens living abroad can be detected in advance, the authorized bodies can be warned and the grievances of expatriates on the way can be prevented.
