The Foreign Affairs Committee of the Turkish Grand National Assembly accepted the bill regarding the approval of Sweden's NATO accession protocol.
The bill, which was accepted with the 'yes' votes of the AK Party, MHP and CHP, was rejected by the Saadet Party and İyi Party.
While the draft law is expected to come to the General Assembly in the coming days, it is stated that the Saadet Group will not change its position and repeat its rejection vote.
The group argues that the assurances given due to Sweden's approach to terrorist organizations and attacks against the religion of Islam should be guaranteed.
Saadet Party Parliamentary Group rejected the bill regarding the approval of the accession protocol for Sweden's membership in NATO.
SAADET GROUP REJECTED THE BILL
The Foreign Affairs Committee of the Turkish Grand National Assembly accepted the bill regarding the approval of Sweden's NATO accession protocol and referred it to the General Assembly of the Parliament.
While AK Party, MHP and CHP voted 'yes', Saadet and İyi Party voted 'no'.
Saadet Group states that there are reasons why it voted no in the vote and that the timing is not right.
The group argues that Turkey's accession protocol should not be discussed at a time when genocide was committed in Gaza and 12 of our soldiers were martyred in attacks carried out by terrorist organizations in the Claw - Lock operation.
IT IS EXPECTED TO VOTE "NO" AT THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY.
After the Foreign Affairs Commission accepts the accession protocol, Sweden's NATO accession bill is expected to come to the General Assembly of the Parliament and be accepted in the coming days.
Saadet Group underlines that the Swedish authorities have not taken sufficient steps to end the attacks against Islam, as well as the government's approach to terrorist organizations, especially the PKK, which they expect from Sweden.
Saadet Group, which is waiting for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to make a statement regarding the details of the decision in question, states that it will vote 'no' in the General Assembly of the Parliament.
