After the earthquake in Kahramanmaraş, Saadet Party is on the field with all its teams.
The vice presidents of Saadet Party in the region made examinations from neighborhood to neighborhood.
While drawing attention to the gravity of the situation of citizens in the region, it was stated that there are still inaccessible areas.
"WE HAVE PEOPLE WHO HAVE THE DIFFICULTY TO GET RESULTS WITH NEEDLES"
Saadet Party Party Spokesperson Birol Aydın, who made investigations in Kahramanmaraş Merkez, Göksun and Türkoğlu districts, pointed out that the disaster in the region cannot be described with words.
"In the face of this picture, we pray that God will give our people the strength to endure and endure. On the one hand, we have the lives under the rubble, and on the other hand, we have people who have the difficulty of getting results with great hope, hope and only by digging a well with a needle. We have seen that many of the hundreds of ruined buildings we have seen do not have search and rescue efforts or teams yet. It is painful to be there knowing that there are many people in every collapsed building that turns into rubble. The magnitude, severity and prevalence of the earthquake naturally complicate many things, we see on the roads and in the places we go; On the one hand, the prayer of our nation, the effort and effort of all state institutions and organizations, provincial and district municipalities and non-governmental organizations are admirable. However, it is impossible not to see a lack of coordination. Factories, market hall, workplaces and residences have been destroyed in Kahramanmaraş. I pray to Allah to save our country and our people from this severe test with the least loss," he said.
“PEOPLE ARE JUST WAITING AROUND THE FIRES”
Deputy Chairman Cafer Güneş, who made investigations in Adıyaman, pointed out that they visited the governor and stated that they saw that they were waiting helplessly during this visit.
Güneş stated that there are places that the studies cannot reach.
"There are hundreds of buildings that have not yet been intervened, and there are funerals wrapped in blankets in the corner of every building. There are a maximum of two AFAD officers in the intervened buildings, and they are desperately waiting for a crane or a dozer to come. When people see us, they run to us crying, they think they are government officials and say, 'Where are you?' There is a flood of people coming from different provinces, but no one has the equipment to dig, and those who do have no cure. People have intervened in closed markets out of thirst and hunger. Folks are waiting at the beginning of the building, although hours have passed, there is a sound from the wreckage. Those who are outside say that the teams will come inside, just hold on, but everyone's hope is gone. No electricity, no mains. No food or drink assistance. People just wait around the fires," he said.
“COLD AIR IS THE BIGGEST PROBLEM IN DIYARBAKIR”
Deputy Chairman Bülent Kaya, who made investigations in Diyarbakır, drew attention to the fact that 6 buildings in Diyarbakır city center and around 20 buildings in the districts were demolished, and that work continues on these buildings.
"Even in Diyarbakır, there have been 97 deaths so far in six buildings and rescue efforts are still ongoing in all six buildings; The number of destroyed buildings in the hundreds, two hundred, three hundred in other provinces clearly reveals how much trouble the rescue activities can cause. The weather is very cold in Diyarbakir, so this is the biggest problem right now. Citizens began to partially move into their own homes. Trying not to cross into damaged buildings. Some of our citizens go to their spouses, friends and relatives in rural areas and districts. Work is also being done on places such as tent cities or gyms where people can stay. Food and similar needs are also provided. There is no chaos in the city except for our losses and our citizens waiting to be rescued under the rubble. However, as we saw the gravity of the destruction of six buildings in Diyarbakır, we became even more concerned for our brothers in other places. The other parties are really troubled; Especially the provinces and districts of Adıyaman, Hatay and Kahramanmaraş are much more troublesome places," he said.
"ONCE AGAIN WE SAW THAT NEGLECT KILLS NOT THE EARTHQUAKE"
Deputy Chairman Mahmut Arıkan, who made investigations in Gaziantep, stated that they saw that the buildings destroyed in the region were built in violation of the earthquake regulations.
"Once again, we saw that negligence kills, not earthquakes. When we took the concrete pieces of the destroyed buildings in our hands, we determined that they were shattered and the irons were not in compliance with the regulation. The problem of not being able to meet the shelter, electricity, water and food and drink needs of people who survived the wreckage or who could not enter their homes, upon the cry of the lives under the rubble, will be the most important problem for the region in the next period. In the interviews we held with the citizens waiting around the wreckage, it was stated that the recent zoning practices of the municipalities also increased the destructive effect of the earthquake," he said.
"A BIG DISASTER BUT LACK OF PLANNING MAKES IT EVEN DEEPER"
Deputy Chairman Mustafa Kaya, who made investigations in Hatay, one of the provinces most affected by the earthquake, stated that the biggest need for the works carried out in the city was cranes.
"70% of the city is finished. There are still places where the wreckage cannot be intervened even though the sound is heard. People are helpless. They tearfully demand help from every stranger they see. Most of the destroyed buildings are old. We talked to the mayor. He has nothing to do. He can only deliver food, albeit sporadically. The governor's office, the city hall, the old council, the fire station have been demolished. Communication is very problematic. We saw the soldiers in the center of Antakya. They were also trying to pave the way. There is no crane. The cold that starts in the evening affects everything very negatively. There is no bread. People who come here with good intentions just turn into blocking crowds if they're not part of an organization. The planning is extreme. There are many streets that have not yet been entered. It would be correct to say that we have never seen AFAD. There is no electricity in the city. The roads are badly damaged. It's a huge disaster, but the lack of planning makes it worse. Our language should be constructive criticism. When nothing can be done, they can now try to hide some deficiencies with the power of the state. No water. Fuel is one of the biggest problems. Most of the stations are closed. People are queuing at open stations with plastic bottles in their hands. In this slowness, this debris is removed in 6 months under the best conditions. Especially some of the places selling basic food were loote," he said.
“WORKS NEED TO BE CONDUCTED FASTER”
Yakup Budak, a member of the General Administrative Board (GİK) and Presidency Council, who made investigations in Adana, stated that they determined that there were problems especially in terms of accommodation and transportation to food.
Budak stated that they had the opportunity to meet with the citizens who were damaged in the earthquake with the joint works of Cansuyu, IHH and AGD within the scope of the investigations.
"We received information about the debris removal activities with the 35-person Cansuyu search and rescue team. We can say that the situation in Adana is somewhat better compared to other provinces. This is due to the fact that the number of collapsed buildings is less than in other provinces. However, in the end, there is a disaster and serious pain is experienced. Aid needs to be delivered to disaster victims in a coordinated manner as soon as possible. Time is running against our citizens affected by the disaster. Every minute lost costs maybe a life. With this in mind, the work needs to be carried out more quickly and meticulously," he said.
