Milli Görüş movement has continued to exist in Turkish politics since 1969.

While Saadet Party, the sole representative of Milli Görüş movement, was founded 22 years ago today, the date of 20 July has another historical feature.

It also marks the anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation that started 49 years ago today.

July 20 is an important date for Milli Görüş movement.

At the same time, the Cyprus Peace Operation was carried out 49 years ago today. Saadet Party Deputy Chairman and Kocaeli Deputy Hasan Bitmez, who made statements about the political journey of the Saadet Party.

"The Saadet Party will continue to give direction to Turkish politics as well as having a structure that has the potential to contribute to the country's politics in every period," he said.

“THE SAADET PARTY CONTINUES TODAY'S REPRESENTATION OF NATIONAL OPINION AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL”

Reminding that Saadet Party was founded with the chairmanship of Recai Kutan following the closure of the Virtue Party, Bitmez stated that it has been an important party in Turkish politics since 2001.

"Our Saadet Party was founded under the leadership of Recai Kutan, under the leadership of our Hodja Necmettin Erbakan, following the closure of our Virtue Party 22 years ago. He has continued his work since the 2002 elections and will continue to work. Temel Karamollaoğlu, our 5th president together with Mr. Recai. After his ban was lifted, our teacher served as our general chairman until his death. The Saadet Party continues to represent Milli Görüş policy in the current political arena at the highest level," he added.

SAADET PARTY DIRECTS THE COUNTRY'S POLITICS

Underlining that Milli Görüş movement has always been influential in the politics of the country, Bitmez emphasized that the Saadet Party has continued to influence both the opposition and the government with the policies it has followed since 2002.

"Our Saadet Party has the potential to contribute to the country's politics in every period. This is so great that it cannot be ignored in the opposition, as it serves in power when there are opportunities for power. Of course, the influence of the opposition within the Assembly is greater, but the politics and opposition understanding that it carries out outside the Assembly has continued to shape and influence Turkish politics, and will continue to do so in the future. If a cooperation called 6 Tables has been formed today, the Chairman of Saadet Party has contributed to this formation and ensured its formation. With the experiences, results and evaluations to be drawn from here, Saadet Party will also reveal the works that will affect the AK Party's abandonment of its policies that exploit and oppress our people at a point where it is at the peak of not being able to bring solutions to our country's problems in the upcoming period," Bitmez said.

“GOVERNMENT IS UNWILLING AND UNTARGETED ABOUT CYPRUS”

Bitmez, who also made statements regarding the anniversary of the Cyprus Peace Operation, reminded that almost half a century has passed since the Peace Operation.

"It has been 49 years since the Cyprus Peace Operation. Regarding the TRNC, we have not seen any steps from the current government. We are living in a period of indifference, reluctance, intellect and aimless regarding Cyprus policy. The architects of this period, in which Cyprus is both forgotten and forgotten, the number of states recognizing the TRNC did not increase, and the determination for a permanent solution was not demonstrated, is the AK Party governments. The government is in the attitude of not protecting Cyprus, but seeing Cyprus as a problem and getting rid of Cyprus. I am talking about the government that exerts effort and exerts pressure to impose the Annan Plan, which includes thresholds that will end the existence of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and ends all gains regarding Cyprus. They have been in the position of government alone for nearly 22 years, but the steps they have taken to recognize the TRNC, the gain they have produced is zero. And it seems that; not making efforts to have it recognized by more states; It involves willpower, not negligence. All necessary will must be put forward, both politically, economically and militarily, for the protection of the TRNC and the Turkish presence in Cyprus," Bitmez added.
