Saadet Party Deputy Necmettin Çalışkan made statements about the problems in the earthquake region, especially the hot topics on the agenda, at the press conference he held at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.

“THE EARTHQUAKE ZONE HAS A SECURITY PROBLEM!”

Çalışkan emphasized that the wounds are still not healed even though it has been six months since the earthquake.

"Every day, our people are faced with new problems. Nowadays, temporary bazaars and temporary container workplaces have started to be built in some earthquake zones. Some of them became operational. However, there is a security problem beyond the infrastructure problems here. In this respect, it should never be overlooked that the safety of temporary workplaces is just as important as the safety of our cities until now. At this point, it is essential that official institutions and authorities fulfill their responsibilities beyond intimidating the nation," Çalışkan said.

“EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS CANNOT PAY THE ACCUMULATED INVOICES”

Stating that the electricity, water and natural gas bills accumulated in the earthquake area put the citizens in a difficult situation, Çalışkan said, "Bills have multiplied today that many people cannot afford to pay. The duty of the public is to keep their word, to instill confidence in people. In this respect, taking the bills by the public is the erasure of the public's debts. In addition, while there is some support for moderate and heavy damage in the earthquake zone, there is no support for houses and workplaces with light damage. In this respect, container and rental support should be given to the owners of houses with less damage."

“FEES OF PAID TEACHERS MUST ALSO BE GIVEN IN THE SUMMER TERM”

Çalışkan reminded that tens of thousands of teachers working as paid teachers in schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education are unemployed, and said, "While they were trained for a wage far below the minimum wage during their employment, today they are completely unemployed, unpaid and without income. In this respect, the same salaries in summer should be paid to teachers who work during the school season throughout the year. This is also true for honorary teachers working in the Diyanet."
