Speaking at the General Assembly, Karaduman stated that the producers experienced serious grievances due to the agricultural frost.
"In the plain area, where most of the production is made, the frost rate is 90 percent," Karaduman said.
"FUEL, FERTILIZER AND PHARMACEUTICAL BREAK BACK OF THE FARMERS"
Emphasizing that tens of thousands of apricot producers in Malatya are in a difficult situation, Karaduman said, "While the costs such as diesel, fertilizer, electricity and medicine have already bent the back of the farmer, the frost has almost put salt on the wound. It is urgent to include the region in the scope of natural disasters and to provide the necessary support to the producer. VAT should not be charged on basic input items such as diesel, electricity, water and fertilizer used by the apricot producer whose trees are damaged due to frost. The Ministry of Agriculture should protect the apricot producer who has been aggrieved."

In addition, Karaduman submitted a parliamentary question to the Presidency of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, demanding an answer from the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Vahit Kirişci.
Karaduman asked the following questions to the Minister of Agriculture Kirişci:
What are the activities to be carried out by your ministry in order to eliminate the grievances experienced due to the frost event?
Has financial support been provided to our apricot producer in Malatya in the last year?
If support is provided, how much is the total amount of grants paid to these producers in the last year?
Do you plan to abolish VAT on basic input items such as diesel, electricity, water and fertilizer used by the apricot producer whose trees were damaged due to the frost?
What kind of a process do you manage to identify the damages caused by disasters such as frost, snowfall, flood, storm, earthquake that make the producer suffer and to eliminate the damage?
