Tradesmen talked about their problems at the congress held online. Problems were discussed at the congress, which was attended by tradesmen from many sectors from 81 provinces of Turkey. Tradesmen operating in many sectors conveyed their problems at the “Tradesmen Congress” attended by ESDER President Mahmut Çelikus and TESK President Bendevi Palandöken. In the program organized online and attended by the tradesmen, the tradesmen explained that they could not get along and that they were working under difficult conditions.
HELP CANNOT BE PROVIDED WITH DEBT
Felicity (Saadet) Party General Chairman Temel Karamollaoğlu, who started his speech by thanking the participants at the 'Tradesmen Congress', stated that the problems of each sector are different from the other and emphasized that the aid given is not enough.
"The thing called aid is being shown the bank way to the borrower. This is not support. Let's postpone your debt to the state, you will pay later. It is a wrong method to perceive them as support. Of course, postponing a tax that you cannot pay today is not a definite support, it would only be postponing the problem," Karamollaoglu said.
“CLASSIC ECONOMY THOUGHTS MUST CHANGE”
Karamollaoğlu underlined that a solution cannot be found with classical economic understandings during the pandemic period, "The pandemic is a situation that affects the whole world. However, while producing a solution in such a situation, a solution cannot be found with classical economic understandings. In this sense, the support decisions taken are not a cure-all. It should be acted with a completely different economic understanding. USA, Europe abandoned it. So why can't we do it while they do it? Economic logic needs to be put on a different basis. This approach has to change," he said.
“GOVERNMENT SHOULD DEVELOP POLICIES FOR ARTISTS TO SURVIVE”
Expressing that tradesmen are the backbone of the economy, Karamollaoğlu said, "If you are standing, the economy is standing. The government should also develop policies for you to survive. If a tradesman in another country does not have the problems you are experiencing, then it means we are miscalculating something. Hopefully this era is over. Someone who knows your problems will come and solve your problems."
"1 OUT OF 6 ARE TRADESMEN IN TURKEY"
Explaining the situation of the tradesmen by participating in the Tradesmen Congress, President of the Confederation of Tradesmen and Artisans of Turkey, Bendevi Palandöken, underlined that tradesmen and artisans are in a difficult situation with the pandemic experienced all over the world,
"The contribution of the most important tradesmen and craftsmen to the economy is very important. It has one sixth the population of the country. The epidemic is being fought all over the world. In this case, the grievances of the tradesmen increased many times. All over the world, tradesmen are opened with a plan. The support to be given to the tradesmen during the pandemic process was not enough," he said.
“NO DAILY STEPS, BUT DEFINITELY STEPS SHOULD BE TAKEN”
Mahmut Çelikus, Chairman of the Association of Tradesmen and Craftsmen, stated that the support given to the tradesmen should be carried out to be continuous and comprehensive, "We need to take action. Workers and civil servants are taking action. Tradesmen should also make their voices heard within the limits of the law and the law. It should also be together with workers, civil servants, retirees and farmers who have one-to-one contributions to the tradesmen. Because all these are interrelated. Instead of taking daily steps, a comprehensive roadmap should be drawn based on the future," he said.
