Saadet Party Chairman Temel Karamollaoğlu, 'Urbanism Workshop' criticized recent urbanism in a harsh way. Karamollaoğlu criticized TOKI's failure to keep the mass housing under the control of the mosques, saying, "The recent ranting urbanization has also caused the disappearance of the identities of the cities. In fact, each city used to have its own identity. Now those identities are up. All cities are the same now, it is almost impossible to distinguish each other."
Saadet Party's two-day 'Urbanism Workshop' kicked off with the participation of Chairman Temel Karamollaoğlu. At the workshop held at the Ilci Hotel, Milli Görüş was attended by legendary and obsolete mayors, academicians, architects and experts conducting research on urbanism. The opening speech of the workshop was made by İlyas Tonguc, the Deputy Chairperson of the Saadet Party's Local Administrations. Recalling that the Milli Görüş municipalities, renowned for their legendary services as local administrations, have gathered together the work they have done so far and stated that in order to talk about municipalism, it is first necessary to talk about urbanism.
WRONG STEPS TAKEN!
Saidet Party General President Temel Karamollaoğlu said that many problems seem to have been solved today, but he pointed out that many steps have been taken in order to rectify the problems in the structures. Karamollaoğlu reminded that President Erdogan "betrayed Istanbul", saying that it is not possible to estimate what Erdoğan meant by saying, but that he could not ignore that it was a mistake, puzzlement and irregularity.
THERE IS CRISIS IN URBANISM
Karamollaoğlu emphasized the need for a municipality understanding for citizens to live in peace and order, said: "Why is the municipality? What to pretend? For this, the city planning is needed. If the plan is made and the plan is done and the plan is obliged to change the plan every week, I will not call it plan according to my conviction. The plan is a preparation, a study, to solve problems in a longer term. Unfortunately, in recent times we are facing a serious turmoil in the sense of urbanism."
THIS WAY OF THINKING SHOULD BE CHANGED
Karamollaoğlu reminded that a city plan provided by the city council, "but you say to some institutions like TOKI, 'you are no longer under the control of the municipality'. That city becomes uninhabitable. Now under the control of TOKI municipalities? No. He is doing his plan, he brings to the heart of the city, constructing constructions that will not be compatible with infrastructure. Those high buildings that are complained are usually buildings built by TOKI. I'm really having trouble understanding this. You will build a municipality somewhere, that municipality will arrange the urbanization, traffic, organize the way, floor height, density will arrange. You will say to certain groups from behind that you are not subject to this legislation of your municipality. "There is a mistake here. This mind must change absolutely," he said.
Karamollaoğlu stated that urbanization in ranta was destroying the identities of the cities and said: "In municipal services, when you start to make a distinction as 'yen'. The plans are upset again. It's turmoil that irregularities in the end also affect those who voted for you. For this reason, municipality should pay great attention to this issue in understanding. Rural urbanization in recent times has also caused the disappearance of the identities of cities. In fact, each city used to have its own identity. Now those identities are up. Now all cities are the same, almost impossible to distinguish from each other."
