Saadet Party Hatay Deputy Necmettin Çalışkan continues to keep the problems of the earthquake region on the agenda.

Stating that the reconstruction and construction process continues in the provinces affected by the disaster, Caliskan warned.

He submitted a parliamentary question to the Presidency of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, asking Mehmet Özhaseki, Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, to answer.

"MANY PROBLEMS ARE WAITING FOR EMERGENCY SOLUTIONS IN HATAY"

Çalışkan stated that in this context, in addition to general problems that threaten public health in Hatay, problems such as the destruction of heavily damaged buildings, transportation of rubble, and on-site separation in the debris field, and various environmental problems await urgent solutions.

Çalışkan emphasized that the rubble works that were removed unconsciously and insensitively in the earthquake area negatively affected the infrastructure, superstructure and human health of Hatay.

"As a result of debris removal works, serious damages occur in infrastructures such as roads, water, electricity and natural gas," Çalışkan said.

Çalışkan pointed out that more care should be taken during demolition and rubble separation works.

"Segregated irons, which are transported by open-top TIRs without adequate precautions, invite accidents in the region and pose a danger to the citizens in the region. Every work carried out without precaution and insensitivity turns into torture for the people of Hatay. In addition to this situation that negatively affects human health, these careless studies; It will bring great financial burdens to all public institutions and organizations. In addition, it is known that the earthquake debris has been moved to several areas, the citizens living in the region are disturbed by them and it has reached dimensions that threaten their health," Çalışkan added.

“WHEN WILL HEAVY DAMAGED BUILDINGS BE DESTROYED?”

Caliskan asked the following questions to the Minister of Environment and Urbanization Özhaseki in the continuation of his parliamentary question:

"It is seen that some trucks carrying rubble cause traffic accidents. What measures are taken to prevent possible new accidents? Although on-site rubble separation is prohibited, trucks seem to sort the rubble piles on-site. Is the audit task adequately done in this regard? If inspections are carried out, how many vehicles have been penalized for violating the rules so far? When is the demolition of heavily damaged buildings planned to end? At which points were rubble separation areas opened in Hatay?"
