Saadet Party Hatay Deputy Necmettin Çalışkan continues to bring the problems of the earthquake region to the agenda in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (Parliament).
Çalışkan, who held a press conference in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, underlined that the farmers in the earthquake zone are experiencing great difficulties.
Stating that irrigation problems occurred because the dams did not hold enough water in the earthquake region and that the farmers could not plant, Çalışkan said that many farmers lost their agricultural equipment during the earthquake.
Çalışkan stated that equipment grants should be made to these farmers only once.
Stating that the farmers in the region could not pay their pension premiums, Çalışkan said, "In this respect, it is obligatory to pay the premiums of Bağ-Kur by the public this year and until the end of next year. By paying the Bağ-Kur premiums of registered farmers by the public, this grievance is largely eliminated. Today, our farmer cannot receive health services because he cannot pay Bag-Kur premiums."
Çalışkan stated that the confiscation of the lands where the container city will be established puts the farmers in a difficult situation and said, "Based on consent, they can solve this problem without victimizing the public. Our farmers cannot see ahead. The owners of these lands should be informed when they will be delivered so that our farmers can take precautions. No information is given as to how long the confiscated lands will be returned to their owners. In this respect, our farmers do not see the future, they cannot see it. Public administration requires discipline, it requires a plan, it requires foresight. In this respect, it should be informed here when these lands will be handed over to their owners. Accordingly, our farmers can take their precautions."
