Saadet Party Deputy Chairman and Istanbul Deputy Mustafa Kaya brought the extradition of Israeli drug smuggler Danny Awka, who was accused of drug smuggling through Turkey, to the parliamentary agenda.

Kaya, who submitted a parliamentary question to the Presidency of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey with the request of Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to answer, asked why the Israeli drug smuggler was released.

DRUG SMUGGLER RELEASED FROM PRISON

By emphasizing the drug dealership in question in our country, Kaya said, "Danny Awka, a 35-year-old Israeli citizen who was convicted of possessing 35 kilograms of GAT drugs and smuggling drugs through Turkey in 1919, sentenced to 10 years in prison and serving a finalized sentence in Turkey for 4 years, was recently sent to Israel by private plane from Turkey. and there he was released. Shortly before his release, Kaya reminded Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen's statement on his official social media account, 'This is part of the many efforts made by the State of Israel and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Israeli citizens and is a testament to the rapprochement between Israel and Turkey. I would like to thank President Erdoğan and Foreign Minister Fidan, who contributed to the solution of the problem.'

HOW WAS THE DRUG SMUGGLER RELEASED WITHOUT NOTICE OF THE JUDICIAL AUTHORITY?

In the continuation of the parliamentary question, Kaya asked the following questions to Foreign Minister Fidan:

"Why was Danny Awka, an Israeli citizen who was found guilty of possessing 35 kilograms of GAT drugs and smuggling in Turkey and serving only 4 years of his 10-year sentence, released?

What are the reasons why Danny Awka, who was imprisoned in Turkey for committing a crime, was released there after he was sent to Israel by private plane?

Did you have any information that Awka, whose crime was proven, would be released after he went to Israel?

Has the crime of drug smuggling committed in Turkey been made the subject of a political bargain?

If so, what is the gain for Turkey in return for the release of foreign convicts in such cases?

A few days before Awka was sent to Israel, Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen said: 'Awka will return to his family at the beginning of the week.' How did the Israeli Minister find out about such a situation in Turkey when most people, including perhaps the judicial institution, were not aware of it?

If there was a defect or mistake in the trial and therefore he was released, why was such a process carried out without resorting to domestic remedies to correct it?"
