Felicity (Saadet) Party Van Provincial President Özay İlhan and party members visited Özpınar, "Gelenler" and "Güvendik" neighborhoods, which were most affected by the earthquake, and chatted with the citizens who had their homes destroyed in the earthquake and stayed in the tent.
İlhan and his entourage distributed packages sent from the National Vision Organizations-MILKO to earthquake survivors.
Özay İlhan and his accompanying delegation then visited Başkale District Governor Asım Solak and received information about the latest situation in the neighborhoods hit by the earthquake.
“OUR SUPPORT WILL CONTINUE ACCORDING TO THE NEED”
Özay İlhan, who made a statement to the press after the visit, from the first day of the earthquake, "we closely followed the developments with the head of the district and members of the organization. We went to the villages affected by the earthquake and expressed our condolences and wishes for the past. We distributed the aids that Milko has sent, and we will continue to support accordingly," he said.
Expressing that they listen to the earthquake victims and get the necessary notes, Özay İlhan continued as follows: "Unfortunately, the earthquake is our reality and we forget it quickly. There are still houses without columns and beams in our villages. These should be reviewed before the earthquake arrives. Permanent residences should be built as soon as possible in the villages affected by the earthquake and these houses should be delivered to earthquake survivors at an affordable price."
“THE PROFIT PURPOSE SHOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE WHEN BUILDING HOUSES”
Speaking about the urban transformations to be made, Özay İlhan, "Profit should not be pursued while houses are being built. Tents came at the first moment, this is a nice development. Containers should be distributed only until the very cold, permanent residences are built. There is serious demand especially in this direction. We will convey this to the necessary places. We must take lessons from this earthquake. There are still heavily damaged buildings in Van due to earthquakes that occurred 9 years ago. And most of these houses live. Concrete values of these buildings should be measured again. Earthquake collection areas are still unknown. These should be determined as soon as possible and shared with the public. Van should be prepared against earthquakes that may already occur," he added.
