Saadet Party delegation held a series of events in Erzurum…
Saadet Party landed in Erzurum. The Saadet Party delegation, which went to Erzurum for the 951th anniversary of the Manzikert Victory, made a series of visits. The Saadet delegation, consisting of Deputy Chairman of the Saadet Party Mahmut Arıkan and Cafer Güneş, Member of the High Disciplinary Board Selim Sait Terzioğlu and General Administrative Board (GİK) members Gökhan Gerçek and Salih Berber, met with the members of the organization at a dinner. Speaking at the dinner, Saadet Party Deputy Chairman Mahmut Arıkan reminded that they were in Erzurum on the 951th anniversary of the Battle of Manzikert and said, "It is an honor for us to be in Erzurum on a day like this."
“HEROIC POLICIES DO NOT LICK ERZURUM'S WOUNDS”
Emphasizing the importance of Erzurum, Arıkan said, “Even though Erzurum is a metropolitan city, the number of emigration it receives is less than the number of emigration it gives. In the past, Erzurum was one of the few centers of the world, the number of cold, snowy and icy days were not less than today. The picture is the result of the wrong policies followed, dead investments made and projects left idle. Erzurum is emigrated. Cattle and sheep farming is below the carrying capacity of Erzurum. There is no excuse for selling the sugar factory to Albayraklar for half the price. Erzurum has lost its industrial facilities, factories, workshops, combined and integrated facilities every year. It seems that the aggressive policies have not licked the Erzurum's wounds.”
“OUR ATTITUDE IS NOT AGAINST HUMAN BEINGS, BUT AGAINST OPPRESSION, INEQUITY AND INJUSTICE”
Continuing his speech, “We are members of a movement that considers each of our 85 million people in this country as brothers, does not harbor enmity towards anyone, and has also adopted the principle of working for the happiness of 8 billion people in the world,” he added. Arıkan said, “In our belief, there is no attempt to destroy people. In our belief, there is no hostility towards people. We want to eliminate, prevent, stop, destroy is evil, not the person. Our attitude is towards oppression, injustice, inequity and wrong policies, not towards human beings. No matter what party they voted for or what thought they may have, we sit down with everyone, drink tea, and explain very clearly what we intend to do. We believe that the problems in this country will be solved not by conflict, but by sitting and talking.”
“THIS SYSTEM IS ROTTEN, IT CANNOT CONTINUE LIKE THIS”
Pointing out that the Presidential Government System has 5 characteristics in terms of political science, Arıkan said:
“1- The system has become personalized, it has become person-oriented, the influence and reputation of institutions have decreased, institutions have lost their credibility.
2- The distinction between state and government has blurred. The power of the legislature has decreased and the state has turned into a party state.
3- All laws and rules, especially the constitution, have become personal and situational. Predictability is lost. The law is according to the perpetrator, not the act.
4- The current system has completely evaporated the already low pluralism and participation. The powers of local governments were reduced, and the form of 'political citizenship' was introduced, which approved everything the President said.
5- The cronyism economy has been started to be implemented completely, the tender law has been amended 192 times. This system is rotten and cannot continue like this.”
"NO PROBLEM THAT CANNOT BE SOLVED"
Emphasizing that fundamental rights and freedoms are for everyone, “A dignified life is our right. There is no problem that cannot be solved. We are familiar with the basic issues of both Erzurum and Turkey. With party or not, from our party or not, together with all our people, we will make life easier and more beautiful for all of us. In doing so, we will not, like others, make other people's lives a hell for our own paradise. We will put an end to polarizing politics, and we will make embrace and peace prevail. We will replace the language of hatred with kindness and mutual respect,” Arıkan added.
