Saadet Party Istanbul Women's Branches Presidency made a press statement on ’World Food Day’ in Eminönü Square.

Saadet Party Istanbul Provincial Women's Branches Chairwoman Nagehan Gül Asiltürk said: “We are one of the rare countries in the world in the agricultural field. Unfortunately, meat, rice, lentils, chickpeas, lemon, beets and finally wheat and samanda were even reduced to the position of importer.
 
Saadet Party Istanbul Provincial Women's Branches released a press statement over the  United Nations (UN) Food and Agriculture Day due to raising public awareness, loss of food losses and waste, in order to create awareness of food safety in Eminönü Square. Saadet Istanbul Women's Branches, which draw attention to domestic food products.
 
Saadet Party Istanbul Provincial Women's Branch President Nagehan Gül Asiltürk made the press release. Asiltürk saying that, "in agricultural areas in the world are one of the rare countries self-sufficient. Unfortunately, meat, rice, lentil, chickpeas, lemon, beet, and finally wheat and samanda even lowered to the position of importer. It is evident that the government continues to adopt policies that allow Nordic countries to position the market, such as other Southern countries. We want the Italian, the French farmer win from us to win our own farmers. While we are enough in the food sector, there is no point in being dependent on the foreign.
 
Asiltürk stated that an undernourished generation has been grown. The inadequate and unbalanced nutrition problem that has existed in our country for years has been deepening day by day on the basis of unfair distribution of income. Half of our population is below the poverty line. Considering that more than 1 million of our citizens are living under the starvation threshold, we will see how deeply we live in hunger and malnutrition as a country.
