Saadet Party presented the first parliamentary research proposal to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) after the overlapping price hikes and increased taxes, and demanded the opening of the parliamentary research on the economic crisis.
In the motion signed by Saadet Party deputies and Saadet Party Group Deputy Chairman Bülent Kaya, it was emphasized that the exorbitant increases made with the Presidential decision increased the unjust tax burden on the citizens.
With the proposal, Saadet Party Group Deputy Chairman Kaya, "The budget balance, which has deteriorated due to wrong economic policies, waste and corruption economy, is burdened by the citizens with automatic tax and fee increases. Steps taken with an economic approach that has no idea or suggestion other than making a raise and increasing taxes further increase tax injustice and inequality," it was said.
“INDIRECT TAX RISES TO THE HIGHEST LEVEL”
In the reasoning part of the said proposal, "Turkstat data, which does not reflect the cost of living in our country, caused the wages of fixed income earners to depreciate against real inflation. Most of the tax revenues consist of indirect taxes. In the first quarter, the collection of income and corporate profits and the 'direct' taxes taken from the property decreased by 18 percent compared to the previous year and reached 149.1 billion liras, while the "indirect" taxes taken from consumption such as VAT and SCT increased by 76.3 percent and reached 481.9 billion. The share of indirect taxes in the tax pie reached an all-time high of 76.4 percent. Pursuant to Articles 104 and 105 of the 98th Turkish Grand National Assembly Rules of Procedure, in order to prevent the current economic deterioration, to reduce the unbearable burden caused by the increase in unequal and unfair taxes and fees, and to determine the measures to be taken in order to find a solution. It is mandatory to open a parliamentary inquiry," it was added.
