Kozan Municipality continues the construction and repair works in the district with great care.
These works of Kozan Municipality were awarded in the Contest for Encouraging Historical and Cultural Heritage Conservation Projects and Practices organized by the Union of Historical Cities.
Kozan Municipality, which received an award in the "Project Implementation Branch" in the competition, was pleased to pay attention to the historical structure of the district and to work towards it.
Kozan Municipality was deemed worthy of receiving the 'Project' award in the 'Museum Encouragement' competition last May by the History Cities Union and in 2009.
Speaking about the award received, Kozan Mayor Kazım Özgan, "Kozan is a historical city of ours. The ancient city of Anavarza is in Kozan and is on the UNESCO world heritage list," he said.

Kazım Özgan, Mayor of Kozan, from the Saadet Party, who spoke about the award that Kozan was deemed worthy of, at the ceremony of the Contest for the Encouragement of Projects and Practices for Conservation of Historical and Cultural Heritage, held in Istanbul.

In the first years of the Republic, Marshal Fevzi Çakmak served as a Kozan deputy. 25 percent of citrus is produced in Kozan. Turkey's largest honey production facilities are in Kozan. The bazaar where Once Upon a Time Çukurova was filmed is our upper bazaar. The bazaar on which we work and arrange the streets. As Kozan Municipality, we repaired 170 shops there. I have been with the Historical Cities Union since its establishment," he added.
