A press conference was held yesterday, where Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen's new term targets were presented and the launch of ISG Recommends. Turkey's second largest airport, Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport, approached the record it had reached before the pandemic with the number of 12 million passengers it caught in the first half of 2022. The launch of the ISG Recommends program, in which evaluations were made about Sabiha Gökçen International Airport, which is on the transit route of millions of passengers, was held with the participation of ISG Board Member Mohammad Nazli Abdul Aziz and ISG CEO Berk Albayrak, as well as many press members.

“POSSIBLE TO BREAK RECORD”

Speaking at the meeting held at the Sabiha Gökçen International Airport Terminal Building, ISG CEO Berk Albayrak said, “In the period of January 1-June 10 2022, 6 million 114 thousand 859 passengers traveled from our airport on domestic flights and 5 million 866 thousand 753 passengers on international lines. Parallel to the number of passengers in the first half of this year, the increase in flights was also reflected in the statistics. In the January 1-June 10 period of 2022, 40,499 domestic flights and 40,369 international flights were organized. According to the data of the first 5 months of 2022, we have reached this figure at the level of 80 percent. If this intensity of travel continues until the end of the year, Sabiha Gökçen is likely to reach 2019 figures and even break new records.”

“WE ARE WORKING TO SUSTAIN A COMFORTABLE AIRPORT EXPERIENCE”

Reminding that ISG was chosen as the second fastest-recovering airport in Europe in terms of its rapid recovery performance during the pandemic, and that it was the eighth in European passenger traffic in 2022, Mohammad Nazli Abdul Aziz, Member of the ISG Board of Directors, said, "Our vision for the future is with the slogan ‘the leading airport of the city’ to provide an excellent airport experience. With the ISG Recommends program that we launched, we will be there for our passengers from the moment they decide on their journey until the moment they return, where technology and travel are intertwined, We design an experience that offers strong collaborations and privileges. We are working to provide a comfortable airport experience.”
