The response of the Samsun Water and Sewerage Administration (SASKİ) General Directorate, the Road Construction Maintenance and Repair Department and the Fire Brigade Department to the flooding and overflow incidents experienced in the rural neighborhoods of Terme, Ayvacık, Salıpazarı and Çarşamba still continues.
Despite the risk of river flooding, the teams continue their work on stream beds and bridges without interruption.
Making statements on the subject, Saadet Party Samsun Provincial Chairman Salih Şen said, "May Allah have mercy on the deceased and give patience to their relatives. Condolences to those who have suffered. The damaged infrastructure of our city should be started immediately. Unless measures are taken, this etc. events are inevitable."

Saadet Party Samsun Provincial Chairman Salih Şen stated that cities grew unplanned.
"After every heavy rain, we have come to live with the fear of 'Will there be a flood again?'. The unplanned growth of our cities and making them 'obese cities' is the main cause of flooding. Building houses on the fields opened for development without infrastructure, asphalting the roads, cuts the contact of rain with the soil and prevents it from being absorbed by the soil. In addition, the closure of the stream beds after the road works almost invites floods. It is not possible to explain and accept the development of river and stream beds in any way," Şen said.
“START INFRASTRUCTURE WORK IMMEDIATELY”
Şen stated that the current ruling party did not carry out infrastructure works either.
"Both the Metropolitan Municipality and most of the district municipalities have been governed by Mayors since 2004, won by the candidates of the ruling party. Which of these Mayors has done infrastructure work for 20 years? I am calling out to all Mayors: Please do not allow construction to be built without the infrastructure of the areas opened for construction and start the infrastructure works of your city immediately. Unless measures are taken, this etc. events are inevitable," Şen added.
