With the opening of universities after about a year and a half, students began to look for houses and dormitories in the cities where they won a university. Increasing exorbitant prices are burning the pockets of students and parents. Making a statement about the increased house and dormitory prices, Anadolu Youth Association-National Youth Foundation President Salih Turhan said, "It is very difficult to accommodate our youth, to plan the education and training process and to prepare them for new periods at such exorbitant prices."

"AUDIT MECHANISM IS NEEDED IN THE REAL ESTATE MARKET"

Chairman Turhan underlined the need for a control mechanism in the real estate market, "Parents are experiencing a problem of economic opportunity, especially with the effect of the pandemic. We specifically request that our state authorities follow the real estate market properly and make certain interventions. We should remind you that it is an unscrupulousness that a standard should not be set for rents, that rental places worth a thousand lira are given up to 3 thousand TL and 4 thousand TL. A control mechanism is needed," he added.

"HOME OWNERS MUST BE CONSCIOUS"

Turhan also called on the landlords not to turn renting into opportunism.

"We, as a nation, as a society, are people who have known very well what is cooperation and solidarity throughout history. It would be unscrupulous to turn renting a house into opportunism and to say that these children and young people need houses, so let's keep these prices high. We specifically ask our citizens who own their homes to act more conscientiously and to support the needs of young people," Turhan said.

"SHOLARSHIP SHOULD BE GIVEN TO EVERY STUDENTS"

Referring to the difficulties experienced by the families during the pandemic period, Turhan said that a certain amount of scholarship should be given to every student.

"As a non-governmental organization, we demand that parents are experiencing economic problems with the pandemic period, and that our state, without distinguishing any student, should support all our passers-by who are studying at the university as a scholarship, without distinguishing any of them," he urged.
