Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Sunday received Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman in the capital Cairo.

In a statement issued by the Egyptian presidency, the two men discussed enhancing bilateral relations, especially on investment and economy fields.

They also agreed on solving the regional crises by political means.

Sisi said the security of Gulf countries is closely related to Egypt’s national security.

On Tuesday, a large Saudi delegation arrived in Cairo to prepare for Bin Salman’s visit, said an Egyptian security source, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to media.

It is Bin Salman's first visit abroad since he became crown prince in June of last year.

Before that, however, he visited Egypt four times (three times in 2015 and once in 2016) after Sisi assumed the presidency in mid-2014.

Saudi Arabia has remained Egypt’s biggest supporter since the Egyptian army ousted Mohamed Morsi, Egypt’s first freely elected president, in a 2013 military coup led by al-Sisi.
