The Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services in Turkey, which determines the minimum wage, gives its own personnel wages below the minimum wage.

Although the net minimum wage is 2,825 Turkish Lira, the salary given to the personnel working in the ministry for additional lessons is 2,620 TL. The personnel working for 5 thousand additional lessons within the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services, who have great problems in many issues including personal rights, experience great economic difficulties.

The inequality experienced was not limited to the net minimum wage. While the determined net minimum wage is determined for a single employee, the numbers are increasing for those who are married and have children. However, the salaries of married and child personnel working for additional lessons within the ministry remain below the determined minimum wage. Although the minimum wage determined for married and one child is 2,919 lira, the amount determined for two children is 2,960 lira, and 3 thousand 13 lira for three children, the highest amount received by the ministry personnel who are married and working for additional lessons with children is 2 thousand 807 lira. .

10 MONTHS OF THE YEAR THEY RECEIVE A WAGE BELOW THE MINIMUM WAGE

The biggest reason for this inequality that the personnel working for additional lessons are exposed to is the working day calculation. Employees who officially work 22 days a month can receive a salary equal to the minimum wage. However, these personnel, who are deemed not to work on weekends, public and religious holidays, are therefore considered to have worked fully in only 2 months out of 12 months. The remaining 10 months are sentenced to salaries below the minimum wage. Employees working 22 days or more in a month can only get a salary above the minimum wage. This is only valid for a few months a year.

It turned out that the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services, which represents the government wing in determining the minimum wage and announced the wage, did not give the minimum wage, which was announced for 2021, amounting to 2 thousand 825 lira 90 kurus, to its own personnel. Temporary 5,000 personnel who work within the Ministry and work in the Social Services Directorate in the provincial directorates of the Ministry in different branches receive a salary below the determined minimum amount.

MINIMUM WAGE 2,825 TL THEY RECEIVE 2,620 TL

The minimum wage increase, which will be applied as of January 01, 2021, will be reflected in the salaries of employees on February 01, 2021. Thousands of personnel working in the Ministry, who are effective in determining the minimum wage, will continue to receive their salaries in January without any increase and with an amount below the minimum wage in February.

ITS OWN PERSONNEL RECEIVES A SALARY BELOW THE MINIMUM WAGE

Employees of the ministry will receive January salaries at the beginning of next month and February salaries at the beginning of the following month. However, staff working temporarily in return for additional lessons will receive the following salaries below the minimum wage:

Single employee: 2 thousand 620 lira 96 kuruş

Married employee with one child: 2 thousand 711 lira 87 kuruş

Married with two children: 2 thousand 755 lira 12 kuruş

Married employee with 3 children: 2 thousand 807 lira, 78 kuruş.
