Political prisoners held captive by the Sisi regime in prisons are suffering from severe illnesses as a result of the torture and ill-treatment they are subjected to. The oppressed Egyptians, whose demands for treatment are rejected, are left to die in agony. Since the military coup in 2013, thousands of Ikhwan members, especially Ikhwan leaders such as President Mohammed Morsi and Mohammed Mehdi Akif, have died in the dungeons of the putschists because they were not treated.
THE RIGHT TO LIFE IS NOT GRANTED TO THE PRISONERS
The number of prisoners who lost their lives as a result of the "medical negligence" of the Sisi regime is increasing day by day. Cihad Abdul Ghani, a 32-year-old political prisoner with cancer, passed away last week due to medical negligence. Requests for Abdul Ghani to receive comprehensive treatment, were rejected more than once by the Sisi regime. The late Abdul Ghani wanted to spend the last days of his life outside the prison with his children, but this humanitarian request was rejected by the coup regime. Two political prisoners died last November. 58-year-old prisoner Mecdi Abdu al-Shabravi, who fell ill with kidney failure due to being deprived of hunger, thirst and clean air for a long time, and Şaban Muhammed Seyid, another political prisoner in Badr Prison, were passed away in Kanatir Prison.
COUP OPPRESSION CONTINUES FROM 2013 TO THE PRESENT
Egypt, the largest Islamic country in the Middle East, witnessed a treacherously planned military coup against the rule of the Muslim Brotherhood in 2013. The putschists group led by General Abdel Fattah Sisi seized power in Egypt by dismissing President Mohammed Morsi at gunpoint. In the coup administration that has lasted since 2013, thousands of Egyptians who resisted the coup were brutally murdered, as a result, thousands of them were tried and executed with baseless trials and nearly a hundred thousand Egyptian dissidents were thrown into prisons as political prisoners. Torture, oppression, persecution, harassment, rape, ill-treatment and all kinds of crimes against humanity continue to be committed openly in the prisons of Egypt.
