CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu criticized the Justice and Development Party (AKP) and MHP's silence due to the murder of former Grey Wolves (Ülkü Ocakları) Chairman Sinan Ateş, saying, “We are aware of how much bad smells come from this business. We are also aware of how bad this business is,” he said. It was noteworthy that MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli did not mention murder of Sinan Ateş at all. In addition, Bahçeli pointed out that there may be snap elections.
CHP and MHP held their weekly group meeting in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM). While CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu included the murder of former Ülkü Ocakları Chairman Sinan Ateş in his speech, MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli did not mention the Ates murder at all.
“THEY CANNOT IGNORE THIS MURDER”
Kılıçdaroğlu criticized the AKP and MHP for keeping silent due to the murder of Sinan Ateş and said, “Information is flowing to us, we are aware of it. We know a lot about this subject, we are also aware of how bad smells come from this business. For now, we do not raise our voices so that the officers can do their job. No click from the palace. Palace’s spare tire does not say a word, as if one of his most precious sons was not killed. He can't even take care of his own child. They cannot ignore this murder, they cannot pass it off by being silent. We will not allow this, the truth will be enlightened.”
“WE KNOW HOW TO DO WHAT”
Referring to the rumors of the government to appoint a trustee to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB), Kılıçdaroğlu said, “If they make the foolishness of appointing a trustee to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, we will accept this as the terrorism of a dictator against his people. If they try to do this, no one should expect more patience from Mr. Kemal.” Kılıçdaroğlu regarding the meeting that will be held on January 5, said: “We are 6 separate parties, but we act from the same philosophy on democracy. We know what to do and how to do, and we are working.”
BAHÇELİ NEVER MENTIONED SİNAN ATEŞ
It was noteworthy that MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli did not make a statement regarding the murder of Sinan Ateş and did not accept questions when the group finished. Stating that the elections will be held on time in every speech, Bahçeli gave the green light for the snap elections this time and said, “Whether the General Elections for the President and the Deputy are held on time or early, we have both options and we are ready. In this context, in order for the election decision to be taken, either a parliamentary decision with 360 deputies' yes votes is required or our President must lead Turkey to the elections based on his constitutional authority. Both of these ways are legal, they are the right to use a constitutional authority.”
