Egypt's coup leader Abd alfattah al-Sisi started preparations for a return visit to Turkey after hosting President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in his country.
With the visit of Sisi, who will come to Turkey next April, the "cooperation process between Turkey and Egypt" will be further strengthened.
The "friendship and alliance" policy of the two Islamic countries, which managed to unite on common grounds despite many disagreements between them, is followed with interest in the global political arena.
Following President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's visit to Egypt, all eyes turned to when Egyptian President Sisi would come to Turkey. Egyptian official news agency (MENA) wrote that Sisi will be in Turkey in April.
Sisi's visit to Türkiye, planned last July, was canceled at the last minute.
Sisi's visit to Turkey in April, bilateral agreements, on which intense work is being carried out, will be signed and efforts will be made to further strengthen Turkey-Egypt relations in the coming period.
THE EXECUTION PROCESS WILL BE STARTED
After 7 years of political crisis, the parties entered into an intense diplomatic construction process in order to repair the damaged relations.
As a result of Turkey's dominant insistence and Egypt's conciliatory policy, mutual softening moves were first implemented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and intelligence units.
Ultimately, mutual ambassador appointments were followed by Sisi-Erdogan meetings.
The only element missing diplomatically in the Turkey-Egypt normalization process, which has gone through various stages since 2020, was Sisi's visit to Turkey.
Comments are being made that the visit in question will be the peak of the normalization process.
With the steps and signatures to be taken during Sisi's visit to Turkey, the "Turkey-Egypt normalization process" will be completed and the "execution process" will begin, which will ensure the implementation of the agreements made.
“I AM WAITING FOR APRIL WITH IMPATIENCE”
Egyptian official news agency MENA announced in its news published yesterday that President Sisi will visit Turkey in April.
In the news, which does not provide exact information on the day, claimed that Sisi said following words:
"I look forward to following the invitation of the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, to visit Turkey in April in order to strengthen bilateral relations."
JULY VISIT WAS CANCELED AT THE LAST MINUTE
Although Sisi's visit to Turkey was planned long before Erdogan's visit to Egypt, it did not take place.
Sisi's plan to visit Turkey on July 27, 2023, after being invited to Turkey by Erdoğan last year, was shared with the public.
However, on the mentioned date, Sisi's visit to Turkey was canceled due to his participation in the Russia-Africa Summit.
